About Us at Phillips FarmFamily

Phillips Farm is home of LaKyLu - LaKyLu was a name created that is a combination of the first 2 letters of each of our children's names.  LaKayla, Kylee and Lucas. First and foremost to all we do, we serve the Lord and our family is very compassionate about doing things together. We strongly believe that raising children in the right ways will give them the best opportunities in life.  Learning to love God the Father, be faithful to family and friends and put others first in all you do.

We hold fast to Proverbs 22:6 - Train a child in the ways he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from it.

Farm life is rewarding and hard work.  We work together, compete together, play together and most importantly pray together.  Farm life comes with hard work, sweat, tears, laughter and yes, sometimes a bit of blood!  We also know that not everyone has the opportunity or resources to grow up on a farm.  So therefore we love sharing our animals with others and love to teach other about the joy of horses, dogs and all our other animals here on the farm.  We are active in our local 4H club and serve in our community in various ways.  We are members of Bull Creek Cowboy Church in Lone Oak, TX.

David is a native of Texas and actually grew up in the Lone Oak area.  David has worked for over 20 years as a Finance Manager.  He loves farming and has grown tomatoes, cantaloupe and watermelon for commercial production.  He has a passion of growing hay and loves to move dirt and work on the farm.  POA ShowDavid is a certified Equine Reproduction technician and has served on the BOD of the Texas POA club.  He enjoys hunting and farming and spending time with his family.

LaRena is a homeschool mom and has a very productive and busy at-home graphics design business. A turn-key advertising for mostly ag based business but serves a wide variety of customers.  She is a carded Judge with the Pinto Horse Assoc. and The Pony Of the Americas.  LaRena has a passion for teaching others about animals and offers riding lessons and basic obedience classes to new dog owners.  She has trained and shown horses and dogs for over 30 years.  LaRena currently serves on the Texas POA as Vice President.  She is certified as an Equine Reproduction Technician and is a Honorably Discharged Army Veteran and grew up in Northwest Iowa.

Our family is very active in showing both horses and dogs. The kids have earned multiple Texas Top 10 riders awards, have competed at the National POA show earning Several National Championships, Reserve Championships and Top 10 awards.  We also love to show our dogs and compete with them at AKC sanctioned shows across the state and most of all, we just love dogs and horses!

FarmWe find that showing animals gives us goals to reach and helps us grow in our learning about training animals and build great character.  We enjoy winning but most of all, we enjoy learning and meeting new people.  We have created many great friendships through our horses and dogs.

Our farm is mostly a horse farm but we do have a few other critters as well.  A few calves, and nice flock of chickens and other poultry. We enjoy gardening and hanging out around an evening campfire in the back yard together.

The boys love to hunt and all the kids love the sport of archery.  You will often find us with a group of local 4H kids teaching them about some aspect of horses, dogs, or shooting sports in the evenings.
